Too many people think, ‘God is too busy for me.’ According to those people, ‘God has other things to worry about.’ First off, God doesn’t worry. Secondly, God does care about you. But more on that in just a moment.
In Matthew Chapter Eight, Jesus and the disciples are on a boat when the Bible says a violent wind or storm came over the group. Jesus was asleep.
“And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish” (John 8:25)
Those of you who are familiar with the story know that Jesus got up, calmed the storm, and called out the disciples for their lack of faith.
That faith is what we need to have a stronger relationship with God. It’s what He uses to bring us together. Meanwhile, these disciples had already witnessed Jesus perform many miracles. Why then did they not have the faith that they would be safe in the storm? It’s the same reason you and I and everyone else reading this blog panic in the everyday storms of life. We lack faith.
Believers, Jesus knows your name. He knows your problems. And Jesus knows what it’s like to be tempted (Hebrews 4:15), to be hungry (Luke 4:2), to be thirsty (John 19:28), and to feel pain by enduring the cross (Hebrews 12:2). When those issues occur in your life, look to Him for strength. He’s already saved us. Let’s trust him in all things, and encourage other dads in their times of trouble. Not sure what to say? Share scripture with them. Tell them what your pastor has been preaching in church. I just did. Do the same for someone else today.
"I am so glad that our Father in Heav’n
Tells of His love in the Book He has giv’n;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see,
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me."
